Financial Aid is available to those who qualify

Investing in your education is an investment in your future. South Hills is committed to helping you take advantage of the many financial aid options available to you. We greatly encourage you to contact our financial aid office at 814-234-7755 or email financialaid@southhills.edu.

The first step in applying for aid is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Form. You can get an application:

1. From the guidance counselors office at your area high school
2. From the South Hills Financial Aid Office
3. By applying online at www.fafsa.ed.gov ** Preferred Method

NOTE: A student must sign and return an Enrollment Agreement before any aid will be processed.

You may also be eligible for some of the federal, state, and private financial aid programs available, including:

• Federal Pell Grants (Pell)
• Pennsylvania Higher Education State Grant (PHEAA)
• High School Senior Scholarships
• Community Scholarships
• Special State Grants (ex: NETS (New Economy Technology Scholarships))
• Chaffee Grants
• Federal Stafford Loans (subsidized and unsubsidized)
• Federal Parent PLUS Loans
• Agency Funding (WIA, OVR, TAA, etc.)

Students must meet satisfactory academic progress requirements to remain eligible for all federal and state financial assistance programs.

Employer Reimbursement

If you currently have a job, check with the human resources department at your place of work. Some employers will assist you with furthering your education, especially if the skills you would acquire in school are relevant to the company's business objective.
