Build a Computer Camp

For students 12 - all ages

Roll up your sleeves, and lets do what you’ve always wanted to — tear a computer apart, piece by piece, to see what’s going on inside! Learn about chips, motherboards, RAM, hard drives, and all of the components that make up a computer. Then build a brand new one that you can take home with you!!

Classes meet from 9 am – 1 pm. Sec. 2: July 26 – 30 Cost including computer: $475 ($425 for each additional family member)

NOTE: Please note that the cost does not include an operating system. A thirty-day trial download will be installed to get the computer running. Participants will need to purchase software to continue use of the machine.

Videography Camp

For students 12 - 18 years of age

Campers will work through the process of planning and producing a short video. Script evaluation, talent choices, lighting, and shooting techniques will be discussed and performed. They will then shoot and edit their own video. Each camper will get their very own “Ultra Flip” camera to use at camp, and then take home for future projects and practice!!

P.C. Technician Camp

For students 12 - all ages

Students will learn to identify and install computer components, work with files and folders, and perform software installations. They will also learn to set-up, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on the hardware and software components of a personal computer workstation. Tired of having to call someone for help everytime your click doesn’t do what you want? Empower yourself with this knowledge that is appropriate for students of all ages.

Microsoft Office 2007 “Tools for School” Camp

For students 12 - all ages

What a great, fun way to equip your students with the skills to use the single most powerful tool they have…their computers! This class will provide hands-on work with all of the Microsoft Office Professional Software which includes, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Help them to learn how to quickly build and layout reports, complete with graphs and tables. Create and query a database (great for research papers), properly use email as an organizing and communication tool, create great presentation/slide show with PowerPoint. Sure everyone kinda knows how to use the Microsoft Office…help your student master it!!

Graphic Arts Career Exploration Camp

For students 12 - 18 years of age

Dive right into a week of doing what graphic designers do! You will plan, layout, and produce a marketing/advertising campaign using all the tools that the pros use (Adobe Creative Suite). You’ll learn the basics of how to use Illustrator, PhotoShop, and InDesign while producing an ad, poster, flyer, and brochure.

Computer Animation Camp

For students 12 - 18 years of age

Yes, you can create your own computer animated cartoons and short stories. Spend a week learning the process of how to write and create you own story using computer animation software. On Friday afternoon we’ll have a private screening for invited guests!
