Update #2: Interactive Map Development

The Altoona campus Information Technology (IT) students have been working on creating an interactive map for the Healthy Blair County Coalition's website. It will allow users to find locations in Blair County where they can participate in a variety of physical activities and sports.

The students and their instructor, Guido Santella, decided to use Google My Maps, a service launched by Google in 2007 that enables anyone to create custom maps for personal use or sharing. Users can add points, lines, and shapes on top of existing Google Maps using a WYSIWYG editor.

This solution was chosen because it would have taken weeks to develop an interactive map themselves, whereas the Google My Maps solution was functional in just a few hours!

This is the actual interactive map that the IT students have created using Google My Maps.
