STATE COLLEGE — County Commissioner Michael Pipe recently toured the South Hills School of Business & Technology main campus in State College. As county commissioner and a member of the Governor’s Workforce Development Board, Pipe is assessing how Centre County and the state can best prepare Pennsylvanians for new careers, thus improving their quality of life.

Following his tour, Pipe commented, “The energy, excitement, and promise of the future that I experienced at South Hills reminds me of the importance of collaboration between educators in Centre County.” Pipe stated his visit helped him learn more about the inner workings of the Centre region’s institutions of higher learning and their specific contributions to the area.

President Paul Mazza commented, “It is always a blessing to share South Hills with someone new. Michael’s visit afforded me the opportunity to see our school through his eyes and to be reminded of how critically important our role is in preparing students to meet the needs of area businesses and organizations.”
