As part of South Hills School of Business & Technology’s long tradition of community service, students at both of its campuses hold several holiday donation drives and fundraisers to collect money and items on behalf of various charitable organizations in their local communities.

South Hills School of Business & Technology's Career Services Team hosted alumni guest speaker, Shawnee Matis, as part of the “Taste of Success” Speaker Series. The series provides current students with opportunities to learn from local employers who provide valuable career information, tips, and pointers to help the students start thinking about what comes after graduation.

Administrative Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant, and Health Information Technology students from the Altoona Campus of South Hills School of Business & Technology recently participated in a trauma drill at UPMC Altoona. Afterwards, they were given a tour of some of the hospital facilities, including the the STAT MedEvac 11 helicopter and its landing area.

Students of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography specialized associate degree program at South Hills School of Business & Technology select a charity every year for which they volunteer their time and effort to bring awareness and raise funds. The charity they chose to support for the 2018-19 academic year was the West Penn Burn Center Summer Camp.

A new class of certified “Droneologists” recently graduated from the Discover Drones for Teens Summer Camp at South Hills School of Business & Technology. The Droneologists, ranging in age from grades 7–12, completed a 20-hour program that taught them how to build and fly drones safely and properly.

South Hills School of Business & Technology hosted the 8th annual Sonographers' Symposium in the first half of 2019. The event attracted over a hundred attendees from six states and featured lectures from leading industry experts, demonstrations of the latest technology from top vendors, and opportunities to earn Continuing Medical Education credits.
