South Hills DMS Student Receives Anne Jones Scholarship Award

STATE COLLEGE, PA – Hayley Barton, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) student at South Hills School of Business & Technology’s State College Main Campus, was awarded this year’s Anne Jones Scholarship by the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU).

First awarded in 2006, the Anne Jones Scholarship honors the numerous contributions made to SVU and the vascular technology profession by Anne Jones, RN, BSN RVT RDMS FSVU; former SVU President (1985-1986); former Chair of SVU’s Government Relations (now Advocacy) Committee. This award was established to annually provide four qualified students who are enrolled in a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited vascular ultrasound program with funds toward their education to encourage them to pursue careers in the field.

Hayley of Renovo, PA, is currently fulfilling her internship requirements at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA and will graduate from the DMS program in June 2019.
