ALTOONA — Faculty and staff from South Hills School of Business & Technology’s Altoona Campus attended the 5th annual BASICS/Rotary Career Fair held at the Blair County Convention Center on April 25, 2018. Blair County Chamber of Commerce’s BASICS (Businesses and Schools Investing in Cooperative Solutions) Committee and the Blair County Rotary Clubs welcomed more than 1,000 eighth graders from ten local school districts to explore opportunities in nearly 80 different career categories.
The goal of the career fair is to prepare and inform area students of the many career opportunities around them. Representatives from South Hills School of Business & Technology’s Altoona Campus provided students with information about various career paths and the specialized associate degree programs offered at the school.
Information Technology (IT) Instructors, Jeff Joiner and Guido Santella, were on hand to give the students a glimpse into the world of computer programming and networking.
