“I worked my family’s dairy farm where I operated the business until I decided I wanted to change occupations and move towards something relating to engineering.
I knew about South Hills from signage in the area and from acquaintances who attended the school . I chose the South Hills Engineering Technology program because analytical thinking, mathematics, and problem solving have been strengths of mine and are useful in the engineering field.
South Hills met my criteria for a school because it was close to my home, it enabled me to attain a degree in a short period of time, and offered a quality degree that would put me in position to get a good job. I enjoyed my time at South Hills very much. The skills I learned led me to getting the job that I have and enjoy today. I found most of my teachers to be very engaging, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the lasting friendships that I have made and the skills learned that gained me my current job are many.
South Hills School of Business & Technology has put together a curriculum in Engineering Technology that builds students into employees that are respected and sought after by businesses. With hard work and a positive attitude, a degree in Engineering Technology from South Hills guarantees success.”

“I was a machinist before starting the Engineering Technology program at South Hills. I lost my job due to a plant closure and I learned about South Hills while researching different schools that accepted federal trade financial aid money. I chose South Hills School because South Hills was the closest school that accepted the trade monies.
As a machinist I was able to make what was on the blue-prints but I wanted to advance my skill set to be able to go from concept to drawing to finished product. The Engineering Technology curriculum was challenging enough that I didn’t get bored but straight forward enough not to get bogged down with extra information. I enjoyed all my classes but looked forward to my cad classes the most.
I enjoyed my time at South Hills and was able to make new friends, one of which became a colleague after school. The teachers were very knowledgeable, some of which I have been able to contact with other questions or topics even after graduation.
I would recommend the South Hills Engineering Technology program because it provides you with the fundamental skills needed to start a career in three different areas of Engineering. This for me was one of the biggest benefits of the program having a background in mechanical, doing my internship in Architectural and ultimately a career in Civil.”
