In the weeks leading up to all commencement ceremonies, South Hills School of Business & Technology helps its students students thank their internship supervisors by inviting them to a luncheon held in their honor as a way of expressing gratitude to the dedicated internship sites that continue to take South Hills students and provide them with invaluable real-world working experience in their respective fields.
In 2000, South Hills School of Business & Technology and the Pennsylvania State University formed a partnership in order to provide South Hills students with an opportunity to explore internship opportunities at PSU. Since then, hundreds of South Hills students have completed internships and/or have been hired as employees at Penn State.
The Network Career Fair is an annual event that allows South Hills students to showcase their skills to potential employers as they seek the internships they need to complete in order to graduate. Over 80 employers participated in the 2019 Network Career Fair, many of them represented by South Hills alumni.
To keep the curriculums for its 11 specialized associate degree programs current and relevant to the community's workforce needs, South Hills School of Business & Technology relies on input from Program Advisory Committees that are comprised of local employers, internship site supervisors, and South Hills alumni.
South Hills School of Business & Technology recently held the annual Internship Appreciation Luncheon for its Spring interns' internship supervisors. The event is the school's way of saying thank you to the supervisors for providing an invaluable service to its students, who gain real-world experience working within their fields prior to graduation.
The annual Career Services event helps connect South Hills students with local businesses and agencies as they search for internships to complete their studies and employment after graduation.
